These MX 50 nails include a tungsten pin in the nail head. 

Widely used for trail riding to improve traction and prevent excessive wear of the shoe. Also commonly used in the first 2 nail holes of aluminum shoes to prevent toe wear. It can be used all the way around the shoe, or if preferred, switch out a couple of regular nails to improve grip.
